63 Nayanmars



The people who worshipped Lord Shiva and get boon from Him are called Nayanmars or Nayanars.

Nayanars were from varied backgrounds, ranging from kings and soldiers to untouchables.

They were 63 in number.Their stories are said in Periya puranam.
